First off, anyone that can run a business in this hobby is tops in my book! Nice work. The miniboots look to be a riot, BTW. Keep the alcohol away from the folks with those!
You asked if the cars are ugly? Not from what I can see.
You'd be hard-pressed not to think it is patterned after a Mazda or 962 from the picture I'm looking at. I think if you want to make them more realistic, get some vinyl decals made of numbers, sponsors, etc. and decorate them. Sure, they may get worn after awhile, but it would really improve the "realistic" nature of them.
I think your making them in plastic was brilliant and if they hold up, job number one is done - which is don't waste the money you're making!
As for the track - it looks great and going braid is a smart move for durability!

Thanks dreinecke! I'll give that some thought. The braiding is gold plated, its keeps its shine.

The track looks great, and I think the whole concept is good.
It may be just me, but I haven't got a very good idea of what the cars look like from your photo, but I think they look OK, if a bit featureless.
For the purpose of your business, I think they are probably better than super-detailed models. Most of your clientele,I would guess, will have no previous interest in slot racing(or in cars, for that matter),so it will be the novelty of racing that appeals to them - not the detail in the modelling.Indeed ladies particularly will be inhibited by cars that look too much like fragile works of art,in case they break them(that's my experience anyway).
I would repeat DR's advice to add prominent numbers, and would suggest a big vinyl sticker of your corporate logo on each car as well.If you are serving corporate events, rather than private functions, you might offer to put that company's logo on the cars (or even just do it as a matter of routine).
Let's face it, vinyl stickers cost very little to produce, and in this context the cost would come off your tax .
The only other thing I'd suggest is; get a curtain made, with your corporate logo on it, to go all around the table to floor level - to hide all the wires and junction boxes.Just gives a more solid look to the whole thing.
And Good Luck! Hope you can sustain the challenge of keeping it all fresh.
David.

The cars look good to me.
If you want to test their durability, send me four.
I run Charity races for kids at Schools, Churches, anywhere I can set up a routed track. I've even run races in a field.
Let me know what the cars are selling for. My stable of Artin cars are getting a little age on them, a lot of age.
