I'm a little late to this party, but having just gotten one myself, I must say...
Well Done Carrera!! :music-rockout:
As Jeremy has said, the car is just plain cool, and runs well straight from the case. I ran mine on both a routed wood track and a Carrera track today, and the car was simply a blast to run. And I haven't even changed the tires!!! :o

What an absolute hoot!
I got mine just over a week ago. The first night I took it to the track and just placed some urethanes on the car and ran it as it came out of the box. It really ran surprisingly well: a bit tippy due to the high C of G and a bit chattery due to unglued, untrued tires and tight body. But still: it ran an 8.71 second lap: pretty slow but not bad for an unprepared car.
So this week I turned it into a nicely prepared car: nothing spectacular, just the usual. Glued and trued tires, got some body float going (lot of work with these cars!) and added a bit of weight low down. That is it!
Tonight was the first opportunity I had to take it to the track post-prep. HOLY COW! What a blast to run!!!! The motor is a bit on the weak side so I cranked the lane voltage up to 12V (I run powerful cars @ 10V) and the Bug was a little rocket ship! I was anticipating getting the lap time down to around 8.3 seconds but.... 7.706 seconds! This is ludicrously quick for this little car. It is firmly in well prepared Slot.it territory on our technical wood track. It is super smooth and with the wide track and wide tyres it corners like it is on rails.
Incredible!!!
And to really give you an idea how impressed I am: if I were to be allowed to keep one car only (out of my 200+ stable), this one would definitely be on the shortlist!
Love it to bits!!!

Have to add my "kudos" to Carrera on this one as well!
Had my first opportunity to turn laps with mine this Wednesday and I wanted to see what it could do "out of the box" - so after simply removing the magnets, adding a couple drops of oil, I hit the road course track at Mark's Model World.
I have to say - in my opinion - this car is a DEFINITE winner!
With unglued/untrued tires, and no lead it was smooth and exhibited nearly a neutral balance!
I am definitely looking forward to running it in it's first official race in the coming weeks! :D

Definitely enjoying the new ride!
I didn't have an opportunity to glue / true the tires yet - but still decided to give it a go in this week's stock non-mag class at the track and had a BLAST with it! Even without any further prep, it was running door to door mid pack throughout the race, with very consistent/predictable handling. :)
Our resident "media guy" managed to catch it in a couple of shots throughout the race that I thought I would share... :)
(I can hardly wait to see what a whole field of these is going to look like running around as part of the "Painter's Proxy"!)
