Hope you don't mind me jacking your thread, but since this was a collaborative project, I thought I would share my progress as well. Obviously a lot more detail work to be done, but it runs great, and steers perfectly.

Ok Dave you got me working on this front end . Maybe I missed the part of how to hook it to the flag to make it steer . This looks like on of those how to build videos coming up . Can you let me know how you hooked it up to steer. A email pic would be nice.

Tony, I can answer your question. The draglink or crossbar on the front end has to have a hole in the center. we are soldering a piece of small tubing to the bar on the front side. Your guide must be long enough to drill a small hole into the top of it at the very back. You can use anything as a pin that fits whatever size hole you are able to drill in the rear of the guide. or you can heat up a steel pin, finishing nail etc, and push it into the plastic guide. It must line up with the hole in the draglink.this picture shows the draglink with center tubing soldered on, it is on the wrong side though, unless you have a really long guide, put it on the other side of the draglink.

Get yourself an 808 keychain camera, it's about the size of a car central locking fob, you can stick it on the slot car and get all the action shots you need.

Have you linked the steering to the driver's arms yet? ;) I'm wondering if I should link mine to the passenger's arm so he flicks ash out the window :lol:

Dave...with work like that you should work for super bell.great job as usual maybe next one try using the steering ball ends from an rc car it would make it easier to make your tierod and give you some way to set the front wheels after and give you less wear on the brass just an idea

I dont know if it adds to performance or not, but I dont care It just looks right and especially when you see it sliding around the corners on these open wheelers.
Great stuff Dave really liking it and it is just plain Cool.
