I was on a roll this weekend catching up a bunch of builds I wanted to do. This little Eldon Lotus was one of them. another cut down Artin chassis to keep it in the pack. It was the yellow version that had no chassis. the motor just snapped into the body as did the axles. I also added a few more details than the original had. and needed paint badly, so this is what I came up with. Its a great runner, and handles very well even with the rubber tires. It came out pretty good to me, but I like this old funky stuff!ImageImageImage

It really does my heart good when these posts come along. A long time ago, I did a bunch of Strombecker bodies and a few other names as well (all LeMans and Can Am type), all in one glorious weekend of undisturbed creativity. I've been hooked on seeing them come back to life. I did 5 or 6, and I have seen easily 2 dozen more since then, and quite a few before. The F-1s you have been doing really are fun to see. I never even thought about doing them. This is the showstopper, though. Nice work.

Quite the transformation! Eldon would be proud to be represented by such a fine example.
Artin chassis mods seem drastic but sure make for a perfect fit. Great job on what has to be a real fun car! :text-bravo:

Thanks Guy's! getting all these old F1 cars up and running again was a lot of fun. I really enjoy rebuilding the old home set cars to preform better, and have reliability for actual racing. The Artin chassis and running gear is just about right for these cars in my opinion, they are a bit faster than the front motored Cartrix F1's and a good bit slower than my SCX Modern F1 cars. of course they are not really scale in size, but when you have a whole field of them, they look ok to me.
