Progress made on one of my Indy entries

Got a little further along on one of my Indy cars last night. Not a spot on replica of the actual car, but a "next season" version of the 154 ran by Danny Klatis in 1951. I really hated to paint the Racer wires, but the original car had black wheels, and was lacking the beautiful chrome exhaust that it had with the Mercedes engine. Did a few test laps last night too, this thing runs pretty good for a long wheelbase, skinny track car. I shaved some Paul gauge 21073se and 21083se tires to resemble the balloon tires ran on the old Indy cars, and in doing so, made the car handle well with no edge on the tires sidewall. Still a lot of little details to finish up, but I like so far.

Beautifully done paint. Not easy to get a finish that smooth.

You've got one of my favorites there, Bob. The 154 was a great car, even though it was not a stellar Indy performer. Your build looks great!
I'm struggling with an entry for this race. I'm definitely in it, but I really wanted to run one of the old Auto Union C-types or D-types (Audi-associated car). But, I cant find any record that they ever ran at Indy................ :(

Thanks Guy's, The silver laid down pretty good on this one, trying to duplicate an Aluminum car is tuff at best. using a resin body didn't help much either!
Allan, thats why I went with this car. I wanted something other than the usual suspects too. I will probably do a few more odd liveried cars for this race.
