Here goes nothing...

I was mucking about with some brass and a soldering iron and came up with....

It is for a resin MG PA/PB kit. The kit came with a resin chassis, but it seemed like it should be a relatively easy conversion to brass.

When I've got it sorted I'll take some of the guff out of the shell itself.

It fits. I can probably trim up the tube for the front axle a bit.
I've still got to work out how to do the guide mount, among other things.

Looks good...guide mount and motor mount?
Brass tube, held vertical for the guide mount.
Motor mount...is it going to be sidewinder?

Guide. Motor will be slimline soldered/glued in place. I've still got to cut rear tube to allow for crown and glue Oilites in place.

I'm really only making it up as I go along. I just hope it works when its together. The main bits are about as square as I can get by eyechrometer. I've done quite a bit of desoldering an tweaking to get it this far.

Excellent start Ember. Is that a Pendleslot body?

Yup. Not a bad one either. The resin chassis looks pretty good, but I bought it with the intent of trying a brass one for it. Handy actually to have the resin chassis to get ideas from.

I would expect nothing less from you, kiddo. You do well with whatever you put you hand to. Great work.

Don't you just hate it when shes "mucking about" and it's about 10 times better than your most serious efforts..
Seriously tho Embs, Good work.

I can say it is much, much better than my first effort. I haven't laid iron to solder lately, but will be rusty when I start to. I just make it up as I go along. I never have a definite plan of action. :)

It got a guide holder fitted yesterday. And then pretty much rebuilt again. Not quite, but I had grabbed the wrong sized axle tube for the rear and the Oilites wouldn't fit. Replaced that. Trimmed a few things up. Now I have to move the rear tube forward a little. And find some other wheels because the BWA15s seem too big. I have BWA13s but no tyres. Argh! No matter how many parts I have in stock they are never the right ones.
