Looking for some advice on a race we are planning here at the Cherokee point road course.
We have been planning this for a few weeks, but need some thoughts outside our box of drivers. This is what we have so far.
Six hour race, starting at 4:00pm running till 10:00pm
Room lights will be cut back to two lights out of four at 6:30, then all lights off at 8:00pm, using only headlights and the track lights at the re fueling area(pit stop).
This will be a fuel usage endurance type race, with four drivers.
The plan is to have two drivers marshaling, while the other two are driving.
Driving segments being thirty minutes at a time, then switch.
Question here, should the team member not driving, marshal the team car, or other teams car ?which would seem the most fair?
The Driver switch will be made during fuel stops, with the fuel stop setting being a rounded time of best qualifying lap. plus a pre set duration before fueling starts.(usually 2 seconds)
No track calls, unless both cars are de-slotted, and restarts made from the location of the incident.
Team winner decided by most laps made in the allotted time.
Anyone see anything we are missing here? any advice or additions would be greatly appreciated, so we can get the date set and do this!
Bob
