I remember watching Redline 7000 in the late 70's. I haven't seen it since.
But I do have Le Mans with Steve Mcqueen ( and the infamous scene of a blue porsche hitting the fence and as it came apart revealing a yellow Lola undereath!! Whoops.)
And Winning with Paul Newman on DVD.

Yeah if you think that was a terrible movie what about fireball 500 the only thing cool about it was the Barris barracuda and Petty's car on the trailer.and of corse the girls or birds as some like to say.

I love those old chezzy car movies the 50's era make me laugh and some of the sixty's stuff was cool but Le mans and Grand prix tried to show real racing at it's best and came close IMO.

And the Aussie pic I think was called Two Lane black top not the american one with James taylor.

The Aussie one had a way wicked red Falcon that looked like a phase 3 and a aussie built 57 chevy with what I still consider the best black paint job I ever seen
and the character that drove the 57 was blind and the evil character drove I believe a aussie built challenger with the most hideous paint job I ever seen black with stupid looking green graphics

Ah Yes "Running on Empty" was a classic.
There was also "Running from the Guns" with the Hot Phase 3 GTHO and an AC Cobra.
and "Midnight Spares" with an XA GT Hardtop. Good Aussie car films with no plot.

M_DelaneyFan,Thank you very much for the correct title of the film, all I remember are the cars of the film.
And the ending and how they had the nerve to destroy the Falcon but not the challenger the car that went into the wall I think was a camaro.

I'll have to check it out and see if I was right or wrong about the switching the challenger with another car but I still think they used a camaro to go into the wall
