Great to see the lone Corvette take the GTE Pro win - great racing throughout the classes! :D

Agree with the Corvette win; great for them, particularly since their other car crashed prior to the start of the race.

Looking back, the Audis were competitive with the Porsches this year, but when they started hitting the wall and taking risks, their chances of winning dwindled fast. After what looked like a real duel on equal terms during the first 8 hours of the race, Audi steadily dropped off the pace due to unscheduled pit stops (to repair their cars) as the remaining 2/3rd of the race began and ended.

Too bad. We won't see Audi at Le Mans again, or in WEC racing either, for that matter. The same, likely, for the German DTM racing. It was clear to me in last year's pre-race Le Mans adds, where an R18 drove to Stuttgart and wheel-spun the greeting "Welcome Back" in front of the Porsche headquarters, that the powers that be at Volkswagon had made the decision that the WEC and Le Mans would be the prevue of Porsche going forward. All they needed was a Porsche win, and they got that this year. So, good bye to 13 victories at Le Mans in 15 years for Audi. I'm not saying that the Audi loss was orchestrated by Volkswagon, but it certainly was a useful outcome for them to move Porsche into the #1 position in WEC racing.

Rumor has it that Audi are going to switch gears and move back into F1 racing, to challenge Mercedes. That's a rivalry that hasn't been seen since pre-1950, when the two used to routinely duel for the top spot in that racing formula. Red Bull is already pressuring Audi to be it's engine supplier for 2016 and if that happens, then an Audi/Mercedes duel will probably become a reality

I still like the Audi R18 e-tron Quattro...........................I probably always will. I need to field an R18 in a proxy race this year; I just need the right one...

Don't worry, I'll be over this by tomorrow morning!

I agree, a great win for the Corvette! It will be nice when the Carrera Corvette C7R slot car is released later this year.

I am also impressed by the second place finish by Dempsey-Proton Racing in the GTE-Am class.

Best regards,
Brian
