No argument with any of that.....I could never own a collector car that I couldn't drive. As for appearance, I didn't say I liked the looks, it's just a shame that Ford never fired that return shot in the "Wing Wars". You have to admit it would make a different 1/32 "what if" NASCAR.

Hey wadyamean "ugly"? I happen to think the 2CV, Pinto, Vega & the Chrysler K-Car were the epitome automotive excellence!!!! (While sheepishly admiting i owned an 86 LeBaron convertible  )

As far as "what ifing" that's one of the things I love about our hobby; I mean we give the term "fantasy livery" a whole new meaning. As far as B-J Auctions....IMHO they lost all credibility with the JFK ambulance debacle, beyond that, no comment, this is a family forum :snooty:

Now I have to get back to work on my authentic 56 & 57 LeMans TBirds!

That's when I realized how disgusted I had become with the no-style, no-originality, "every car just the same as every other car" jellybean bodied mentality of Detroit- I realized one day that a Pinto wasn't such a bad looking car by comparison.

Well when I hit the Powerball, I might consider it.

But the question I have is what do you do with a car of that value?

Do you drive it? Perhaps early in the morning and only at your country home way out in the rural area. Of course you could not stop any where. Just imagine parking and having someone run a shopping cart into it? What would you do at that point?

You have to keep the car in a garage - one with climate control.

I'm sorry but a car like this was designed to be driven and enjoyed. Cars are cars, not trophies to be shown to your closest friends.

However I still would like to have one to park next to my 1971 'Cuda Hemi convertible (if I had one)

That is what attracted me to vintage racing. These guys thrash around cars that are not only expensive
but historically significant. The first vintage race I attended I expected it to be nothing more than a
parade around the track. Boy, was I shocked. And the following year I was neck deep in it. I became
a charter member of the first vintage racing club in the midwest. Met a lot of wonderful old timers,
who were glad to fill me with stories of the old days. And I found a "home" racing with these guys who
drove their cars hard but were still gentlemen on the track.
