I'm a little late to the party but I have to second what has already been said.....great thread. I am a book person and treasure everyone I have regardless of subject matter. Further, I am a "rereader" it doesn't matter how many times I've read a book.....if I enjoyed it I'll read it again. My slots are kind of the same way...I keep them and redo them over and over again. I can count on two hands the cars I've sold/traded/given away since I got back into the hobby 11+ years ago.
I have noted one trend that I find interesting....it appears the majority of us "older participants" prefer our instruments to be analog rather than digital. I have a perfectly good digital multimeter but I would rather use my old, beat up analog one. And I prefer, when possible, to read from the page rather than the "screen". I would go so far as to say that's probably why I haven't looked into one of the new digital systems.....the comfort of "old school".
