I grew up just outside Conover NC in the sixties where the Jarretts lived. Everyone knew or as in my case knew of the Jarrett family. I attended the local Lutheran day school, Glenn and Dale went to Conover Elementary so i never got to know them but most of my buddies living in town did. During the commercial slot car boom there was even a track in tiny little Conover, right downtown. Most kids rode their bikes to school from the neighborhood and the slot car track was right on the way home. Most every kid I knew that lived in town had a slot car they'd stop off and race on the way home.The place was packed what few times I got to go. I could almost guarantee the Jarrett brothers would have been part of that crowd. Sorry, No supporting photos.
