Flickr and Yahoo Shenanigans

I don't know if this is the right place to post this.(Perhaps Moderators could re-site as appropriate?)

Yahoo has recently changed its relationship with British Telecom, with whom my Flickr account was started.
I just had a message from Flickr to say that I have to open a new account with a new Yahoo address, because the old one will soon cease to exist.

So I've opened a new Flickr account under the name of Hornet MkII (you can't use the name of an existing account even if it's been deleted).

I guess all this means that when Flickr eventually cancel the account Wolseley Hornet, all my previous posts with a photo will just show one of those annoying little blue Question mark boxes.

I've re-uploaded most of the photos to the new account, so if anyone gets a blank on an old post and wants to see the missing picture, I should be able to send it if they PM me.

That's incredible. Are there no instructions for a simple transfer?

That's right.

Flickr is quite open about it being impossible to do block transfers from one account to another.

If you haven't kept the originals, you have to individually download each picture,then upload it again to the new account.

Luckily, I still had all the originals in i-photo;so it wasn't too laborious.
