Yup, we have all been there...me, I am juggling 1/32 vs HO...and now with my permanent HO track I am back to buying cars...which I had just sold off about three months ago! At least I managed to trade 1/32 cars for the HO track. But I still have all my Fly and Slot It cars. At one point it got to the point where I was like "oh look, I accidentally won that auction I was mildly bidding on." And that was at two days after the close of the auction. Oops! So there I am minding my own business and up pops a carded AFX dragster with a low BIN price. Bang...and I don't even have a dragstrip. I feel like that scorpion on the back of the turtle crossing the river... Best of luck to you Bob.

Boy can I relate. Paid off a credit card with tax refund. The card is now nearly maxed again. Granted, a 1/3 is due to unexpected 1:1 car repairs, but holy crap I need to get a hold on it. Replacing the tools, supplies and cars I sold off over 15 years ago bites. (And so doesn't inflation!)

I purchased a 1:1 scale Mercury Montego. It was a 1968 and had the "J" code 4 barrel 302 in it. One owner and from the south with no rust. Buckets seats too. Why? Because I though the car deserved a higher bid than what it was getting. I wound up buying it and driving it for a while. I repainted it and sold it for double the money, but it really was an impulsive decision based on absolutely no logic other than feeling indignant that a car that cool was not getting the respect it deserved.

My weak spot on E-bay is now 1/24 scale model cars for swapping on to bread van chassis. I got to stay away because the unbuilt pile is getting a bit ridiculous.

I understand your dilemma.................but it usually works out in the end.
