Slot car stimulation is good for you!!!!

Postby BRP32 » Thu Oct 02, 2014 6:36 am

Hey Guys!

This is how I feel anymore like Rat Fink below.

I sleep in spurts and find myself searching out new things to look at constantly to stimulate myself on the board here!

Keep the great pics and articles coming!

I thrive on this stuff plus it makes our hang out here so much better!

I would put a selfie up of myself in my cone of shame I am wearing but I think I would scare you more than the Rat Fink character below....

I just want to say Thanks to all of you for your contributions to the board.

It helps pass my time recovering so much easier!!!

Hang tough young man.

I have no pics right now but this is what is going on.

Finally ordering the timing for the Show-Me oval. I keep putting it off but now it's time. Once I get this installed the track is about as done as it can be. Just a few details I want to try.

Like a custom grand stand. Not a large one, just something to add a little more detail, but safe behind the fence to last.

My custom car list keeps growing...but it's "review season" and not much time to get things done. But in between the site work I'll sneak a project out.

Finally getting ready for my Bensenville Bomber Chicago trip. Have to get this trailer ready. :)

Hey Harry!

Great hearing from you!

I can't wait to see the coverage of the trailer racing!

My wife thought the idea quite funny......

Sounds like you have a lot of projects going like many of us do.

I need to make my way into the dungeon myself since not getting down there in quite some time.

These are exciting times for slots with the weather cooling off and everyone heading inside to race along with all the new cars coming out also.

Santa will have a long list from me this year that is for sure!!!!

I'm going to sit back and hang on and keep my eyes peeled so to speak for all the new exciting posts from our members...

No bumpin' and bangin' on me yet though.

I still need a little more time to recoop....

Wayne, the news around here slot-wise is that the big old track I restored last year, trying to be ready for Thanksgiving, is going to have to be re-routed, re-painted, and re-taped. The MDF was exposed to more moisture than I thought, and the slots have closed up quite a bit, the painty I used doesn't have the right traction, and the copper tape was too old, which means the glue failed after 10 months. The areas where I started newer tape to finish are stuck great.

I'm going to have to partially disassemble the track to get at the parts that are too far from the edges to reach with tools. Photos will be posted during the mess.

If you put in a grandstand, it will have to be out of range of cars jumping a ramp.
