What I cant understand is why his wife is still married to him?? ....and I like slotcars but just cant figure it out?

Cathy always comes across as a genuinely helpful soul on the phone. Can't say the same for Jim.

I'd also like to point out that the scrawny young red head in the track footage is Jason Brooks, current dual Scalextric World Champion. I assume he'll be shooting to defend his title again this year. That video was shot a few years ago now, but Jason doesn't look a day older.

Anybody else notice he kept saying "Scalextric", but there were Pinkcar, Carrera, and Fly cars all over his collection?

But I have always lusted for the Bentley Blower and the Alfa Romeo. Someday I'll find one of each I can conscience the cost of, and I promise, after some tuning, I will run the heck out of them.

Scalextric is simply the brand that most folk watching the programme would recognize. Although we don't use the brand name for the object like they do in UK.
