Sad to hear, If you have cars in the hundreds then certainly it would be wise to sell some and make a few dollars, but I would say that if you have to take a bath on the ones you sell, it might not be worth it!? If you can get what they're worth or make a profit great, but fire sale prices will only help the lucky buyers and probably won't impact your financial issues enough to make a significant difference. Once they are gone they are gone. :?

I can speak to the therapeutic effects of slot cars (almost as good as Puppy) especially for people like us that are tinkerers, Sitting around watching wheel of fortune reruns will not do you any good either.

Thanks for the kind words and thoughts. It has just reached a tipping point around here. I lost approx. $550 a month turning 65 so will have to sell my cars to survive. Plus the city of Evansville is on me to make repairs on my house which is really none of their business, but I will be fined if said repairs aren't made. I asked them who was going to pay the fines? The only good thing about this ordeal is they can't kill and eat me. All the repairs are just cosmetic and have nothing to do with actual structure, like a rusty mail box post? Really? I have done some things, but some aren't going to happen.
I'll be around the forums, and will probably keep a few of my favorite cars. Winning a lottery would be cool. :)

Reading Kens reply makes me think a working bee would help him more than if he sells his slot cars. I cannot do much as I am too far away but the power of many who are close by might make some seriously positive changes for him.

Kurt, I appreciate the offer, but there no funds for repairs left this month. Old Johnny you have your PM's turned off. I'm not depressed I'm mad! This deal with the city is ridiculous. They always think they have the upper hand. Like I've always said, don't mess with what you don't know, and they have no idea how I think. I think the media would like to know about this, being treated like a common criminal in your own home. What gives them the right to determine when I should fix things? Or when I should paint something? Like I said it's ridiculous. Fines? They will never see a cent! I thank everyone for their concern, but I will live through this. Needless to say I won't be painting today, what a shame. :lol:

My stuff is all cosmetic nothing structural. Somebody just doesn't like the way it looks and I really don't what they think. I'm not mad at the city as they are just going through the motions, but some of the said violations are just their opinion, and as we all know everybody has one. :)

So sorry to hear of the problems you are having with the city and even more sorry to see you having to sell off your cars and wanting to leave the hobby. I have enjoyed getting to know you on here over the years and it would be a shame for us not to have you around. You always do great builds and I always look forward to seeing what you come up with next. I still have the mini you gave me with the brass chassis you made that is nothing short of artwork! You are one of the good guys that make the hobby as great as it is. Hang in there and do what you can to get through this, we are here for you buddy!
