Thanks for posting the pictures. It is too bad that I had not heard about that event, there would have been a conflict with several other things in any case. I used to watch the modifieds on the oval in the '60s and early '70s and I got to one race in the mid '60s when the sports car track was separate from the oval. In the early '70s I went to one sports car race when the oval and sports car track had been combined and they used the banked turns 3-4. I understand that today the cars now run on a new flat section at the bottom of that area.
