Okay, Jon. This happens with orthopedics. When my keg was crunched by a truck when I was 15, the traction arrangement that held my leg in traction for many months was stuck by the time they tried to remove it. It tore up the bone in my lower leg that it was in when they pulled it, but in no time at all, that damage was handled and the femur that was held in traction was so much more comfortable, I didn't even think about it. Orthopedics is all about hardware and leverage. You have a good feel for these things as a machinist, so your gut feelings are a good guide for you. You can move forward with confidence and your girl can benefit from that confidence, whether you say anything or not. Just love her. That's the best thing a daddy can do. The rest isn't up to you anyway, so be good at that.
