I listened to each one, and I feel I can safely say that is some of the worst music I ever heard. You would think that with all their money, Revell could have gotten better musicians. Whew! What a stinker. Flat out stealing of Little Deuce Coupe and several others is bad enough, but the "original" songs and the instrumental are actually painful to hear. Like a train wreck, you just have to listen to see if its really that bad. It is. Woof.

Funny about background music at slot events. I bought a stack of music that was all cars and racing- good stuff. Brian Setzer's amazing album "Ignition", Beach Boys, Jan and Dean, Thunder Road, etc. Until we stopped for pizza nobody really noticed. Concentration is a powerful thing.

I made a car music tape or two over the years. I remember Rapid Roy That Stock Car Boy, some goofy go-kart song, The Mopar Girl short, singing something about Plymouths, How Long Can She Last (Going That Fast), all kinds of stuff.

I'm fortunate to have the original vinyl copy of the REVELLS album. I found it new and sealed (not cheap!).
I then played it once to record onto a cassette (remember those?), and it now resides in my record collection.
A few years back, the album was available on CD from Sundazed Records in upstate New York.
I just called them on the phone as I'm typing this, and unfortunately it's long out of print.

These guys have a TON of Surf and Drag stuff, as well as cool 60's garage bands, and hits from the era. I've been buying their products for years.

The REVELLS album is actually the HONDELLS band -- using many of the original tracks from their first album --
singing lyrics re-dubbed for the slot car genre, with famed "California Sound" musician and producer Gary Usher at the studio controls.
It's really cool, with great liner notes. "The REVELLS -- SOUNDS of the SLOTS" on Sundazed Records. Start checking the online record shops now!
