Thanks everyone.. My Dad has always had a talent for the 'intricate detail' type of work..

He built a doll house for my sister in the 70's that was built like a miniature house.. scale 2 x 4's, stick
built framing, hardwood floors, lathe turned banister rails etc.. and some hand made furniture that
was was just amazing. When it was closed up it looked just like a real victorian home..

Next time he is up here I'm going to show him the progress on the slot track and see if he'll be
willing to help with some structures~

But, then, my mom sews all sorts of things for freinds and people @ the Rest home, but you try and get her to do something for the family and she'd rather not be inconvenienced!?? I guess sometimes it's easier to build things for yourself or others who did not ask for anything, because then there are no expectations to live up to, but with skill like that I would think there would be none of those worries!!

Not sure if I mentioned it, but my Dad was up a couple weeks ago and I showed him the track..

He was completely on board with making me a building using match sticks..

We took some measurements, surfed around the net looking at pictures.. and decided on something
similar to the main building at Lime Rock Park that sits near the end of pit round and across from the S/F line

Here's an idea of what it looks like in person~




Shrunk down to 1/32 scale for the track, the building will be 34" long and 14" tall..

I was down in MA today visiting them and got to see the progress so far.. The stilts that hold
up the building are done as is the floor to that first level.. and he went over the plans he's drawn up
to get my inut on a couple minor changes to facilitate a bridge/walkway that will span pit road and hang
out over the inside lane of the track a bit to function as a started stand..
