Well, I record that show & I started watching that episode last night; they bought it for $7,500 and were only hoping to get a maximum of $15,000 or so! It was not really ever intened to be a show piece or an example of automotive artistry, just a simple flip. This is a perfect example of how amature bidders can run the price of something up and why I always snipe anything I REALLY want to get for a good price! There is always some fool who will bid more regardless of whether it's a good buy or not! Chaulk this one up to Ebay nuttyness

Hey Mas, There is an outfit in Dallas that sells new, in the Ford script box, radios and tape players for Mustangs. Unless they ran out in the last few years, they were quite reasonable. I put one of their 8 tracks in my '65 Mustang Coupe, even though it really wasn't availbe in 1965. But it was already fun to watch people ooh and ah over it in the early 1980s. It fit perfectly in the same hole as the stock radio. I had a weird little insert that went it it to serve as a radio. The AM radio I pulled out had worked fine but AM had already begun to suck by the time I finished fixing up the car.
