What's your preferred real daily driver?

My preferred daily driver was a Honda CBR1000, back in the late '80s - mid '90s. Never did find out what the abbreviation "CBR" was all about. "Corned Beef Rocket" some of my very wise friends reckoned. They rode Kawazakis. Anyhow, it was gunmetal & silver. Totally stock, except for the speedo drive just happened to fall out one day during "routine maintenance". For a bike that would hit 100 in about 7s, and run up to 160, it was sheer travesty that it got written off in a 30mph collision. Especially since it had such a low mileage recorded.

After that I drove various different mostly boring cars.... don't remember them much. Note to self - buy new motorcycle soon.

I have a 2000 Cadillac Eldorado Touring Coupe which takes me three miles to my slot car facility three or four days a week and about 30 miles to Daytona beach every other week. Mostly straight line driving with few challenges. It's a comfortable car for my wide ars and has a big trunk capable of holding my wheelchair and my slot car box. It has 88K miles on it and if cleaned up a bit would look almost new.

I know it's time for me to get a van with a wheelchair lift but I really hate the way vans drive.

I sympathize. I have restored two beautiful antique aircooled BMW classics, and I don't have the reflexes anymore to ride them. They are going to get sold, too. I just have to face up to it and do it. I go down to the garage and visit them now and then.
