For some reason, people who couldn't possibly understand the phrase have decided erroneously online that Robin Williams said it, referring to the late 1960s, and he did say it- as a quote. Abbie Hoffman said it in an interview when he came out of hiding and beat all the made up charges against him. I don't know if that was before or after the dress-wearing nutcake was gone, but they were all from his imagination.

My Saturday morning line up is still imprinted on my memory.

Starting at 6am and going to around 130pm, this was the schedule, although I don't think I ever saw all of them in one sitting.

The 3 Stooges
Cowboy Theater (old Westerns)
Saturday Matinee (old movies in general)

Yeah, that was a favorite, but it was still on Sunday night at that time, being brand new Disney. I had a coonskin cap that had Disney's name in it, but I have no idea where my folks got it.

I was a Skyking and Roy Rogers fan. Also in the area where we lived, Saturday morning could also bring Commando Cody "Skymarshal of the Universe", Whirlybirds, Ripcord or Cannonball (trucker series from Canada). And when chased out of the house it was usually "Army/War" or sometimes "fighter jets" on bikes while wearing our Steve Canyon helmets.

BTW I had a Davy Crockett coonskin hat too :D

60s version of the big wheel, it was tough to get used to but once you did it would haul the mail, all metal too, man these kids today got it so good........not, I wouldn't trade any of my childhood scars for the high tech junk toys today

I forgot Whirlybirds, because they weren't on Saturday mornings where I lived. We didn't get Commando Cody but I always heard people talking about it years later. I think I remember the name Ripcord, but I don't think I saw it. A little while later, about 5th grade or so, there was a rash of new cartoons- Quickdraw McGraw & Babalouie, King Leonardo, Yogi Bear, eventually The Flintstones and The Jetsons- all in prime time.

Mark, I saw those things and wondered how hard they were to get used to. I never sat on one, though.

A couple of things from the past...real film cameras and Galaxy sci-fi magazines. Very few non-professionals still shoot real film (8mm, super 8 and 16mm).

The cool thing with new technology is I managed to convert the lenses to be used on a new digital camera:
