This evening I sat down to read the local Sunday paper. And what do I find? Hostess is going to shut down and there are going to be no more Twinkies. No more Twinkies to be had. That is almost like saying no more Spam. One of the major food groups will be no more. No King Dongs, I liked them better when they were Ding Dongs, either. What a sad world we live in. There are twinkies to be had if you are willing to pay the price. I seen some on ebay of all places, and they actually had bids on them for big money. Strange what people will buy. :)

I guess you never know what you are missing until it's gone. I do my grocery shopping on Fridays
and I remember that the shelves were loaded with Hostess cakes, as they usually are. I had to go
back Sunday for something a decided to cruise by the snack cake isle and sure enough, most of
the Hostess products were gone. I mean, what the heck people?

But will they be the same heathly and nutritious food product? Who knows what some new company will add to the mix to cut costs. Sawdust perhaps? Oh that's right sawdust already is the main ingredient of twinkies. Regards, John

OK, Business 102 for the modern way of doing business. If you want to negotiate in a bankruptcy threaten to shut down the company and put the employees out of a job if you want them to accept substandard wages and a new contract.

Announced today that the parties are going to mediate as ordered by the bankruptcy judge. I bet there is a deal by Wednesday.

they will be back in business soon. even if they can't come to an agreement with the union, the names and recipes for the products carry a lot of value and will be one of the first things snatched up when they liquidate.

Yeah, just like Hank Jr's Country Boy, Twinkies will survive. :violin:
When I was in SAC there was an "official" (looking) poster showing what would survive a nuclear attack: people in fallout shelters, cockroaches and.......Twinkies! :shifty:
