Finally got my '45 Ford 2N tractor running again; had a bad starter drive (thanks for the over the phone advice, Bob). We've had a dumpster (our 3rd) getting rid of "things we needed to keep". A couple of the items/trash cans were too heavy for me to lift so I enlisted the help of the front end loader on the tractor. After that I found a few other things that needed doing including pushing a dead tree, that went over during the winter, to the back of the property. Still amazed at the simplicity and ruggedness of this old machine; it will be difficult to part with when we've sold the house.
If the weather better tomorrow I'll hook up the Bush Hog and mow the pastures.

Dang, Sarge. The oldest Ford tractor I ever drove was an 8N. My old tractor is a 1950 Farmall Super A that was built in Louisville the year I was born. We were stationed at Ft. Knox 2 years later. Almost caught it!
Have you ever seen one of the 8Ns or 9Ns that were converted to a flathead V-8? They fit in like they were made for it.

Originally Ford considered putting the flathead in the N series. My 2N is virtually identical to the 8N other than the 8N having a 4 speed.
