What Browser

I've been using Mozilla Firefox for a while, but I keep having issues with things like Flash Player. This happens on both my computers with Windows 8 & 7 so I think it's the browser. Any suggestions?
Thanks

Definitely the browser. :( :? If you google the problem you'll see that it is an ongoing problem that has been around for quite some time. None of the suggested fix's that I have tried work . I have begun to wonder if my AV(Mcafee) might be contributing to the problem.

When it comes to antiviruses, they can get in the way of a lot of programs. Security at the compromise of compatibility (and functionality) is worthless.
I have not had a problem since I've switched to Avast antivirus, which by the way is totally free. It's saved my computer from viruses and unsafe connections, and I've not had a problem with worms, viruses, or unwanted installs since I switched. Plus, it doesn't conflict with any program that I've tried to run.
My advice is to drop the costly and often memory hogging pay services and go Avast. They do have more comprehensive services that do cost money, but I've been running the free version for going on ten years without issue.

I would also advise looking into the unfixed vulnerability to ransom seizure that Flash has. I keep it turned off (its a plug in) unless I really need it, then I turn it off again right away.

My Windows 7 computer started freezing up everytime my wife tried a video associated with you tube. Today I've installed a new anti virus and took McAfee off.
Installed Chrome and there's no difference. I'm now in the process of updating all the drivers... this is going to take a while
On my windows 8 I freeze up occasionally and I believe it's associated with shockwave. My wife's computer is first in line then I'll tend to mine

And whatever you do , don't be tempted to buy an Apple!
Not content with the profits they make from ludicrous plastic toys like telephones and now, watches, they declare their monstrously expensive laptops obsolete after less than 10 years, so that you can't update them, but have to buy new.And just to add insult to injury, when you click on "software update", they tell you your software is up to date when it quite clearly isn't.
I write from personal experience. I'll be back to PC's when this one gets replaced.Don't know about pricing in USA, but in UK, a MacBook pro is about three times the price of the equivalent Windows - based laptop; you can get a lot of years of Antivirus cover for the difference.
