The time finally came to sell my 1:1 car. I havn't used it in over 3 yrs. I can not see any use in the forseeable future. So when a buddy phoned a few weeks ago wondering if I knew of any cars for sale I mentioned that I would probably be selling mine. We struck a deal and she left this afternoon. Here's a few pics

Goodbye old girl

Nice ride. Sad you had to say goodbye, but hopefully enjoyed as you would want where it is going.

Lovely car. I wish at least once a week that I still had my '66 Coronet 500.

Aw, man! I can't believe you sold her, but I've been there and done that. I hope you got what you wanted out of her, but it sounds like she went to a good home.

Thanks for the kind words guys. It definitely hurt to let her go but not as much as watching her sit there and rot. She's gone to the best possible home where she is going to be a daily driver.

Thank you
Randy

Man that is an awesome car and I'm sure parting with it wasn't easy but that thing belongs on the road and if you weren't driving it, it's better off with someone who is. I just wish that someone was me! ;)

Nice job taking care of that car, looks great.
First car was a 65 Coronet in the wagon version.
We have a 66 Charger that would have a better life in another home, glad you found someone that will take care of the car for ya.

Wow, beauty MoPar - would that look right at home cruisin' around here on Long Island (or anywhere, really!).
Too bad you had to sell, but I also know that feeling. Wish I had my first Ford back - every day.
Thanks for sharing the pics. Enjoy the holidays, man... Ernie :>)

It is a tough decision to make...
I did the same thing roughly 6 years ago with my '69 442 Convertible. Hated to see it go, but like you, I was to the point of where I was only putting a couple hundred miles on it a year and that was usually in one or two outings with the rest of the time, it sitting hidden away in the garage. :(
While I do still occasionally miss the sound and fun factor of driving it - as there is something therapeutic about driving a car that will scratch the rear tires as it down shifts from 3rd to 2nd when you jump on it at 60! But I am still glad that I let it go for someone else to enjoy.
