Added some shelving!

I added some much needed shelving to one of the slot rooms today. Enough storage for 130 cars. really helped gain some room in that small area that houses The Cherokee Point Road course. The rest of the cars can be stored in the three Draw cabinets under the table surface. Not a perfect solution, as dust can still be an issue.

Yep looks familiar , nice work Bob.
I hang thin clear painters plastic drop sheet over my shelves, helps with the dust.

That's on the wall where the door into the main garage is, right? When I come back to visit I'll not be able to get between the shelves and the track! Discrimination!!! :angry-tappingfoot: Neat idea and Bob's idea for the drop cloth is a good one....I've used it to protect static models in a similar situation.

Hey! I remember that shelf! I thought that's where you hid all the really cool cars so the low life's like us didn't get them.

NICE looking way of keeping them! A friend of mine did something similar with his die cast. One thing he did though, to help limit the dust, but keep everything visible, was that he had 2 foot wide sheets of plexiglass cut at the lumberyard to cover things. He used a hole saw to cut some 3/4" holes in the upper corners that he put rubber grommets into, and then hung the sheets from 1/4 lag bolts he put into the face of the top shelf to slip the sheets over.
It makes for a nice way to keep the dust down - but also allows the collection to still be seen. :)

Todd, that is another good idea to cover the cars. I like that!
Steve, That is the escort out front. I have not put any wax on it yet because the paint was fresh, the rest all have a good coat of car wax on them. Lots easier to keep dusted! so it has a clear lid over it.
Now I just need to build shelves for the other half of my cars! or , I may need to have a sale! (not!)
