Check out this current Trans Am series race. These TA2 cars really put on a good show. This would make a great slot car series.

I've been banking these for the winter time, or at least when I can get to them. Love this series is so good!

Wow I'm going to have to find more time for these neat projects. One question though, why do you not see any of the Fords running the mod engine except in drag racing? I really like my little four valver but never see it on the road circuits.

Can someome please tell me what the difference is between T/A 1....T/A 2...and T/A 3 ?

T/A 1 are tube frame, have about 800 HP bigger radial tires and more custom suspension They also allow Corvette style bodies. Each car costs around $250,000 to build. T/A 2 have tube frames, 500 HP, less costly suspension, slightly smaller bias ply tires and must run Camaro, Mustang or Challenger bodies. I notice that T/A 2 cars run steel Nascar style wheels while the upper division runs BBS type wheels. T/A 2 cars cost $100,000 to build. T/A 3 are lower HP, and I think are more production based cars rather than purpose built, tube frame cars of the upper classes.

This is professional racing so every driver drives for all of the points they can get. That means bumping an grinding The best racing IMHO is in T/A 2. Those drivers really go at it.

By mod motor I mean like the 4.6 and 5.0 double overhead cam like you see available in the Mustang Cobra.

Check the specs on the Mustang it may be there. I noticed that they are running LS1 or 6 style blocks in the Chevy's. They run pony cars in T/A 3 too.

Well I pulled the plug on creating a modern Trans Am series this afternoon. I bought 4 Ninco 1 pony cars from BRS Hobbies. Brian had a good price on them. I got the four cars for $158.45. There went my Bday cash.

I chose Ninco 1 because these cars are going to be used as an IROC series on My SSD track. Because digital cars take a beating, I figured that the resistant nature of the NC1 cars is the way to go. It was a toss up on getting the Scaley versions of the same cars. Brian just had to happen a lot of great liveries at the right price.
