I was wondering if anyone has had any experience with the Cartrix brand of slot cars. Either pro or con is welcomed.
I keep seeing the Ferrari D50 and it just looks so good.

Loved them. Need tuning similar to a Ninco classic and priced like they were at one time. Awesome though!

There are 3 D50s out there now.
2 are the Ferrari style with sidetanks as part of the body, one red , one yellow.
The new one is red and is the Lancia style D50 where the side tanks are pods.
I like them , they are a fun class and can be upgraded . The cars are more like collectors as they are presented, but are a lot of fun to run in a 50s F1 class. The price has come down quite a bit this year compared to past years, but there is a new partnership in the owners corner.
The Scarab is due to come from them yet and should be a nice one.

Chappy,
Okay, in my heart I was talking about "The Early Ferrari" or the Lancia D50.
It is a sexy beast. I have always liked the looks of it. On the back burner I have had plans to order a vacuum formed body from Beta & Classics, but somewhere along the line I've come to enjoy the looks of a hardbody.
Thanks for your input.
FUN is a MAJOR consideration.

Did any say noisy and slow.....I actually like slow but noisy I try to remedy.
Also the tire compound works well and gives plenty of grip once true.

we race them - they are sweet cars
the newer ones seem to be coming with a 16k FF050 motor whereas in the past they have come with a FC-130 motor running at 13k though some did have an 18k motor in them - the earliest ones had an odd motor that was slower than 13k

Marty, As everyone has stated, they are great cars, just need a bit of care to make runners out of them. I have all of them but a very hard to get few, and they most all needed some sort of tuning. The Talbot Lago was a runner right out of the box, with only a tire truing needed for smooth running. The D50 That Harry gave me was a good runner too, but it came from The Boss, so...?
