Marty last visited my track the first week of September for a couple of hours. He has tried on several occasions since then to plan a trip to DeBary but health issues forced him to remain at home on each occasion. Today I had a brief conversation with him from the hospital. For those of you who have religious convictions it is time to pray very hard for his recovery. His cancer has gone to stage IV. I truly hope he makes a comeback but I don't hold much confidence in that happening. But he's a tough old guy and I hope he proves me wrong.

Bob - thank you for the update on Marty - I thought he was doing better and did not know it had progressed so far. This hits very close to home for me personally at this exact moment and I will make sure Marty is on my prayer list.

Thanks for the update, Bob. I share your hopes and he is in my thoughts. I've never met him in person but in the PMs and dealings I've had with him I've come to the conclusion he's "our kind of folks".

Thank you for sharing this Bob - hate to hear of anyone in our community having health issues - particularly something like cancer. :(
While I do not know him personally - I can tell you that we will be pulling for him!

Thanks for the update. I really value his posts that he places on this forum and he would be greatly missed. I hate to be thinking so much of what information I value from reading his posts but I hope he gets well soon.

We've got a stage 4 cancer in our family now, too. We've been dealing with it for 2 weeks. Marty has been fighting this for a long time, and that makes him a better candidate for survival. I hope its true.

Bob, are you in touch with his wife and family? They might be glad to know he has an international community of friends.

Thoughts and prayers for Marty and his family from ours.....

Marty called me today. He is now at home under hospice care. The doctors have discontinued the chemotherapy. He wanted me to thank all of you for your support and kind words.
