Most beautiful race car(s)

My Trans Am fever of a year ago has given way to World Sportscar Championship racing after the purchase of a Fly Ford GT40 in October. Since then I've watched Steve McQueen's Le Mans movie (on YouTube), scoured hobby sites to see what's available, and purchased 12 more Le Mans type cars to create a series.
The series is limited to cars from '64 - '72 and focuses on ones that raced in major endurance races during that era. It's reminded me why I followed them back then and has me drooling over these creations.
Slotcars is as close as I'm ever apt to be to any of these cars, but this 1:1 Lola T70 Mk3b ranks as one of the most beautiful cars I've ever seen.

I won't argue that. The Lola is one of my favorites. As far as Fly Classics go anyways. The only other car that equals it in my eyes is the 512s.

I've purchased 2 Fly Ferrari 512S cars in the past few days - the same one Marty Stanley clued us into, and the #7 driven by Derek Bell. After watching 'Le Mans' I had to have some.
Thanks for the tip to watch that movie again. I see why it wasn't a hit, but for us Motorheads it's a cult classic. The whine of those 12 cylinder engines is the best soundtrack ever to my ears.

The Lola T70 and the Ferrari 512 are both beautiful cars.
For me it would be the Ford P68. It is much prettier without its wing, but from what I've read almost undriveable too. Oh well still a pretty car.

If I were to pick a Ferrari from that era for me it would be the 330 P4

Honourable mention goes to the 917. The car isn't pretty, but it does look bad a$$.

Ferraris are ALWAYS a good choice for "Most Beautiful Race Car".
My nomination is simple: the Ferrari 330 P4 is that car!
I really need to figure out copy & paste on my iPad!
BTW - I am looking to gather parts for another "tune-up". I'm hoping to purchase a Fly Ferrari 512 Sebring (short tail version) of the Coda Linga. If you might have one you no longer need and the price is reasonable, drop me a PM.

Aaah, yes, the cars I grew up with and adored! As a boy in the sixties I ALWAYS attended all races at our local track near Cape Town in South Africa. The annual 3 hour race that was contested by numerous overseas entries was always the highlight of the year's racing calendar. And one of my favourite memories from that era is this car: a lovely restoration:

The Lola was and still remains one of my absolute favourite cars. I still have a lexan body Lola T70 Mk. 3 slot car from that era (in addition to numerous current Flys!).
I also found this great video online:
And I would also second the vote for the Ferrari P4. In those years David Piper always brought out at least one of the latest and greatest Ferraris to the SA endurance races. Great example: a period photograph of the Ferrari 350 Can Am:

Such wonderful memories!

You guys need to go to this event.
http://www.svra.com/events/2016-brickya ... itational/You'll see hundreds of old race cars and they actually race them, plus you get to walk right up to them. Each owner/driver is given a stack of baseball card sized cards with a picture of their car and information about the car and driver to hand out. The first year (2014) there were 710 vintage cars there. There was about four Lola T70's.

Game over,
Whilst I am a Mopar fan and former owner of a 64, 66, 67 and 71 'Cudas, I am not sure that they are on subject.
Your 67 is awesome. I had to sell my 392 cubic inch (360 block and crank and a meeting with Dan Dvorak and his race car machine shop) 67 fastback due to health reasons.
My 64 car started out life with 273 cubic inch V-8 2 bbl. I was just about ready to make it mo' better when a 66 Formula, 4 speed car came into my life. I loved that car and if I did not leave the continental US for just over 3 years, I would more than likely still own that car, it was that good.
When I returned home, I bought. 71 'Cuda with a 440 6-bbl, 4 speed car for my daily driver. It had "dog dish" hub caps, no graphics and no power steering, brakes or other driver assistance equipment.
Basically a "sleeper", but what a blast to drive.
If I could have any of them back, it would be the 66, but the 235 hp, 273 cubic inch V-8 would be replaced with a large displacement small, probably built from a 72 to 74 360 cubic inch block. I think that without a lot of work, I could have 450 to 475 hp and not have to carry around the extra weight of a big block.
I really do like the looks of your "BX-3" 67 though.
Thanks for sharing.
