Well, we arrived late Friday afternoon at our new abode in NC. Trip was delayed a day at my cousin's in Marysville, Oh.....had to get the exhaust repaired on the wife's Mariner. Our furniture arrives Sunday and once things are settled in I get to start working my new dungeon in half of the 2 car garage. No "slot car friendly" hobby shops so I'll be doing a lot of mail order. I thought moving was easy....changed households 13 times in 20 years in the Air Force......what a (negative) difference age makes! One big plus...when we left Indiana it was 26 degrees.....it's "light windbreaker" weather here!

Once you get your room setup it will be just like home (Kansas?). It took be over 20 years to get my setup but I was raising a family back then and something had to go on the back burner. Funny part is now that my son always asks why didn't you have this setup when we were growing up.
Anyway, enjoy your new home.

Well the big orange truck arrived with all of our stuff. So far the only damage was some slight surface damage to the end of a Sauder entertainment center. Right now the garage is full of boxes and we're starting to work our way through them. I definitely don't want to do this again in the near future! Left a bunch of stuff behind/made many trips to Goodwill and we still had around 12,000 pounds. Looks like all of my slots and diecasts made it safe, though it may be a bit before they have a home. One plus: we had a high of 60 today, where we left had a high of 14......that part of the "plan" is working!

Glad you all got there safe and sound Sarge.
Your right about age and moving, it seems to get harder as we get older.
Nice that the weather is on your side, and my bet is that those boxes will empty pretty quick
and you will soon look forward to your new hobby home.
All the best
Bob
