You may actually be having problems because of your browser. My desktop computer uses Vista with Internet Explorer 9. Many websites no longer work properly or at all with older versions of IE. Because I still use Vista I cannot upgrade to IE 11. The guy at my local computer repair shop tells me that upgrading from Vista to Windows 10 is not likely to work. In any case Microsoft has dropped IE in favor of Edge. I have Windows 10 and Edge on my laptop computer. Since IE has now been replaced support for IE will not go on for a lot longer. If I go to a website that does not work with IE 9 I use Chrome, but now I am getting a message with Chrome that says that there will soon be no more updates for Vista. I guess I will have to take a look at Firefox, I am told that it works a lot like IE.
My desktop is getting on in years and has been in the shop a couple of times recently, so I plan on replacing it soon. I have never been in love with Vista, I wish that I could have stuck with XP, which always worked well for me, Vista was buggy right from the start. I had 7 on my laptop before I upgraded to 10 and I liked that. I have not used 10 very much because the laptop is mostly my track computer, but it has all of the software that I need to use it as a backup if the desktop goes down.
