You found the gas car video.
Isn't it great to see that?

Thanks Bibbster for digging this up was great to see.
Ah quite you belly aching and build one the way you build a track can't be to much harder for you to build one right and you are right about the valve of those vintage string racer my friend scott just got one and payed over two grand.
And I told him wouldn't it be better to build one he is a engineer in Pittsburgh and is more than capable of building one with all his equipment in his home shop.
And those midgets good luck in finding one let alone finding a person willing to sell one.

Well I must say after reading the Subject: of this thread, I wasn't too sure of what I was going to see. I mean some of the threads here lately, as pointed out by some, have been highly 'creative' and outstandingly enjoyable.
My first thought after reading the title was, "Oh great, Jeremy has some photos of old, short people racing!"
However I was pleasantly surprised, especially by the pre-RC racing of gas powered miniature cars.
Of course the quote in the title of the video, "Give a boy or a man a motor, and the battle of skill and daring against the power of machines brings out fast and furious action", is just so descriptive of what seems to happen here at HRW it just had to be posted.
Bibbster, thank you so much for posting this.
Now for a question: How many of you had one of the cars that was powered by a CO2 cartridge in the rear? We had a place to race them and they were a blast - literally!
Lots of good memories out there.

The McCoy cars aren't outrageously expensive. I picked mine up at a RC plane swap meet, I think for about $100.
Mine is new in the box, never run. Cars in reasonable condition should be much less. I haven't actually researched
the prices.
The RC car guys have been doing sprint cars for forever. The cool ones were the 1/4 scale cars that raced at the
same track I raced 1/4 scale indy. 1/4 scale NASCAR was the most popular class.
