I saw this on Speed Channel ( as the logo in the upper right corner indicates ) where they showed all the class
races. It illustrates that over there the car owners like to hire pro drivers to chauffer their cars rather than
drive them their selves as we do here. It was great to see who I consider the greatest F-1 designer ever,
Adrian Newey, driving rather that working the computer. Sadly, it also highlights the trend which has
also taken hold in vintage racing in the States; the practice of taking a historically significant car and
re-engineering it to win. The original premise was to race the cars exactly as they were back in the day.
That is what attracted me to vintage racing in the first place. Now the cars are being rebuilt with modern
day technology and ruining the the history contained in the car.
