Updated Slot Car Racers Giving Back - German & Italian prize invasion!

Postby dreinecke » Sat Apr 30, 2016 10:36 am

I was very honored to participate in the recent Slot Racers Giving Back charity drawing that was part of the recent 24-hour race. Much to my surprise - I won several very nice items!

One of those is this very cool Carrera DTM BMW. Now, I have none of these as they are a bit modern for my taste, but I like the racing they do and have driven these at the HRW HQ and found them to be nice cars on a road course. I won't be getting a full fleet of these, but think I'll get two more for my 3-lane track to have something else to run it with. Luckily, these cars are inexpensive and run well right out of the box!

Mine arrived from HRW HQ yesterday and was tuned by the Boss himself. The car is crazy smooth and quiet. Harry did the toothpick tire trick and mimicked the Falken tires perfectly.

Flipping the car over, it is even signed by the Man himself!

This was a great event, and I will really enjoy this prize! Thanks folks!

You have a cool car there! The others in the range (Audi and Merc) are just as nice, and they are all very equal performers. I have one each and they make for nice IROC group.

Thanks, but I do no more or less than most here. I'm just happy I won a nice car and that the proceeds went to many more people in need.

Updated Slot Car Racers Giving Back - German & Italian prize

Postby dreinecke » Mon May 09, 2016 9:47 pm

I have now gotten some awesome prizes from Slot Car Corner, HRW, and today a box from Cloverleaf showed up with some more SCC goodies and a sweet Policar Ferrari 312PB!

I had the original Slot.it version and traded it a few years back. I'd forgotten what a great car this is out of the box!

I want to thank all of the prize donors for this fantastic event!

Dave, if your looking for a partner DTM car for your new one I have a Stihl livery Merc that I am looking to move.
I bought it with the digital chip pulled but otherwise in great shape.
Was going to post it in my Man Cave sale, but thought I'd give you first shot as you needed a running mate.

PM if interested.
Cheers!
