Had to pick up my daughter from college in Wisconsin, so I was able to stop at Model Empire in West Allis.
There is nothing better than being able wander around an old school hobby shop. I found this kit in their clearance section for a whopping $8.


They have a nice size Carrera track in the store.


Quite a selection of current cars.


They have some older SCX, Fly and Monogram models, they also had about 8-10 1/32 Monogram and AMT NASCAR kits for $11.


It's sad these are becoming a thing of the past.

What a find! I still have a good hobby shop close by, but a few years ago they reduced the slot stuff that they carried to just a few HO cars.

I have family in the Milwaukee area, and go to this shop on every visit.

Not only to they have most everything, I have always found the people there very nice and willing to help.

If you can get there, it's worth the stop.

Yes, a great shop.
Bud's is interesting, too. He's mainly HO, but has some large scale tracks.
Milwaukee lost Greenfield Hobby about two years ago. Sad.

Ask Liz if she can smuggle a few Carrera cars for me next time she comes home . :dance:

That is a great shop!

It is great to go in to a shop and race. See all the cars and parts before you buy.

Then this photo of the first dollar at the opening of SCC. That was my dollar buying a new Scalextrac Corvette that I still have.
