I'm back

Probably no one noticed but I haven't been online for about a month. Thanks to one of the students I encountered while substitute teaching early in May I came down with pneumonia and as I waited to get better on my own it spread to both lungs. When it got ever worse I went to the emergency room at the local hospital where I was admitted for a week and then transferred to a rehab facility. Just released yesterday and I hope to start on my track overhaul soon.

As an elementary teacher for 38 years non stop I was expecting to become immune to every cold or flu that kids transmit but that was a false expectation. Every year I get a dose of headrot, where I cough, sneeze, dribble, headache, sore throat, feel lethargic, etc etc.

Now I am only a supply teacher but still get exposed and still get sick.....sometimes the supply teacher needs a supply teacher.

Feel for you, Bob.

We pulled up the copper tape on one of the edge lanes Saturday evening and we may start routing that lane later today. I decided to proceed one lane at a time and hopefully keep two lanes running throughout the process.

Welcome back Bob.

I've been coughing up a lung since December and was just diagnosed with pneumonia 3 weeks ago - before that my doctor said it was post nasal drip. I was on meds for a week and feel better but am still coughing some and weasing a little. It's good to hear you've recovered.

Glad your better and with us man. Go see the Doc guys, an old friend of mine sadly didn't. I had it two years ago, missed five weeks and was sick for four months. A student got me the current crud this spring, luckily at four weeks I'm almost over it but it was just as bad.
Hang tough and stay in the slot!
Dan is right about the feeling of having energy again!

I've been home almost a week now and not feeling quite as chipper as I did the day they sent me home. But I felt good enough to do some racing with one of my buddies who came by Wed. night.

Glad to hear you are doing better Sir! I hope the rest of the braiding goes easily for you on the track.

Good idea to keep a couple lanes available for those who just drop by to run a few laps.
Are you staying with copper tape? I was just thinking you mentioning that someday you might switch to magnabraid.
You have a super nice track and I'm sure you will be up and racing very soon.
Get well quick. :auto-driving:

We are using standard tinned copper braid.
