Roll me to bed...

Growing up, my family had a tradition of doing fondue on Christmas. When my mom passed, my dad didn't want to do it anymore. So, my wife and kids and I do it a few times a year. This year, Valentines falls on Thursday, and that's the night my son is in Boulder for his AFROTC classes. We decided to celebrate it tonight, so fondue it was!
We started with a nice sharp cheddar and beer fondue. Some salad things, fresh bread, and apples.
Coq Au Vin Fondue for the meats.
Chocolate Turtle for desserts. Angel food cake, cherries, strawberries, pineapple.
We like it, because it is a long meal and we all have fun talking, playing trivia games during the meal, and just spending time together.
Let's just say the diet HAS to start tomorrow, and I don't think I'll need to eat for at least another day.
