2014 Corvette Stingray

I was at the New York Auto Show today, here are some pictures of the new Stingray. Almost no parts are shared with the C6. The engine is still a pushrod 6.2L, but it now has direct fuel injection, variable valve timing and cylinder deactivation for better milage. The engine is expected to make 450 HP and 450 lb-ft of torque. Transmissions are a 6 speed paddle shifter auto or a 7 speed manual with defeatable auto rev matching. The car has a new lighter aluminum chassis.

When I seen the first red photo that is exactly what I thought: Ferrari 458.

I LOVE the front. The back I HATE. GM's designers are stuck on this weird angular rut. It is primary reason I cannot stand the Camaro.

And even the 2014 "SS" (based on the Aussie built Caprice Police Car) will have a similar rear end treatment. Doesn't mean they look good, just similar.

That's so typically GM of them. Take one of the features of that ugly brick Camaro and apply it to the most advanced car they have. Just in case they might make something beautiful, a safety net of puke on the butt end.

I agree with a lot of you guys, looks like GM is trying to blend in with the Audi, BMW, and Porsches. Thats not what the Corvette is. When you see a Corvette on the street coming at you you know what it is immediatly, going around the race track you can pick a Corvette out before it gets to you. Although this will be the Corvette I"m not a big fan of it. Hope GM does remember this in future designs. Hillbilly

I know I'm not normal, but I like the way the rear of the car looks better then the front. I have never liked the "new" way all of the manufactures do there head lights that never seem to stop and trail up over the tops or down the sides of the front fenders. Call me old fashoned, but head lights are supose to be in the front of the car not strung out half way down the sides. At least they didn't put the tail lights in the roof pillers like they do there vans and other manufacturs do on some of there cars. [another design element I don't care for].

That rear end looks like a villain from a video game my kids used to play.
