We do something very similar here that is wrapped in what you would call a scone. Great at brunch.

What was the thing that got a negative response?

It's just not a proper Bathurst watching session without a batch of sausage rolls to go with the beer. Nice one Mr Miller.

I've been trying to remember for hours. The name of the sausage rolls in Czechoslovakia is kolache. Because there are so many people of that descent in Central Texas practically every bakery makes the things and they are soooo good for breakfast.

RM, I Cant believe you got a negative response from elsewhere, I mean who doesn't like sausage rolls.

They go with slotcars perfectly, I mean have you tried to eat something like spagetti while you race?

Anything with sausage gets my vote. I do something similar, but instead of pastry I use bacon. :)
