Well my 9yr old decided to arch weld with my LoKo Power 40amp bench top power supply!!!

Smoked it but good......

I have a replacement coming next week that will have to do until I can find someplace to repair it.

Sooo... the house didn't burn down?

Wasn't exactly a hug.......no beatings. However the loss of 10 weeks allowance didn't go down well.

When he said something about smoke and I heard the crackling, I turned around and got it unplugged.

Never even blew the 5amp fuse and he was just getting the wires to glow....

Like Gallagher......I was just keeping an eye on him, not Keeping an eye on him like the wife meant.

Did the red and black leads just look lonely, so he decided to put them together to keep each other company?

He unplugged the Tire Razor and managed to weld the terminal ends together.......
....after awhile he said "smoke".....and fate took it's course......

Oops, that doesn't work so well. Extreme bummer, but glad he didn't give himself the shock of a lifetime.

I would have thought that the power supply would have shut down or blown a fuse before it burned up. Here is a place that repairs power supplies. http://www.power-supply-repair.com/
If there is a ham radio club in your area they might know of some place local that does repairs.
