Ugh... I'd like to throttle the bird-brain behind that one.

Not that I've much experience with throttling, mind you, but I'd give it an effort.

At least the fool didn't put giant wheels and rubber band tires on it. The crap paint can be stripped, but a ruined suspension could mean a lot of hard to find parts.

Being an E-type owner, this kind of thing really burns me. I have seen some pretty outrageous
things done to them over the years. There was a period when dropping small block Chevys in
them was all the rage. I have seen decent, restorable cars scrapped just to get the rear end
to put in a street rod. And I have seen rotted out examples botched up by someone trying to
fix the rust himself, only to sell it off to some unsuspecting fool. We will never rid the world
of idiots, you just have to look the other way and pretend you never saw it.

Maybe one of the slot car companies can build it as a slot car with this paint scheme and sell it as a limited edition in a boxed set.

Just kidding.......

God I hope not!!!!

I could have happily gone the rest of my life without seeing that...

Have owned the same series 1 e-type for 40 years and agree i've seen some pretty poor taste regarding Jaguar customizing. I would like to believe that what was used is that shrink wrap material all the NASCAR teams use in place of paint for their cars. Just peel it off like cellophane and there's the perfectly original primrose yellow underneath. That said, I don't recall if primrose yellow is correct for that production year.

I'd like to thnk it's a vinyl wrap rather than a custom paint job. Custom murals and the like the painter usually works WITH the car. This has been IMPOSED ON the car. I've seen some bad vinyl designs in my time. Even helped install a few, though not my design. This one takes the biscuit for bad.

Would love to hear the story on this. I'm thinking there was a wife involved who said, "Nigel is turning fifty this year and I'm thinking of sneaking his old Jag down to that new paint shop while he's out of town and ask that nice boy with the spiky hair to really spruce it up."

I think there's someone on ebay that does that with Slot.it cars.

Related, my uncle has a series 1 1/2 coupe and a XK140 roadster.
