Doesn't seem possible its been 12 years since the whole world changed. I remember my father saying something like that when Pearl Harbor became a 20 year old memory for him. They won't be forgotten, just like the soldiers and sailors at Pearl are not forgotten. Long after the hurt passes, long after the mourning is healed and resolved, these people who were murdered will always be remembered not for what they did, but for what the world didn't gain from the rest of their lives- the contribution to the world that didn't happen. The proof is in the hundreds of cell phone calls from the victims when they knew the end was coming. They called home to say, "I love you." The most important thing on their minds at that moment was the best thing that people are capable of doing. Hurt and mourning eventually run their course, but loss remains.
