I teach an hour long Science Academy for second graders every Friday at my school. I am wanting to do a lesson or two using slot cars! It would be great to talk about electric circuits and magnets. It would also be awesome to watch the kids get to race my little 1/43 set at school. :auto-nx: I would love to hear any ideas you have. I have a few but there is always the chance that someone will have awesome ideas I haven't thought of yet!

Thanks

I made some simple machines for my girls 2nd grade science, but the rule behind kinetic energy could be used

you could show different power sources wal plug V 9 volt

gear ratio may be pushing it

if you had loops you could teach them about G-Force

Every year at the school he works at, Kurt does something showing what different gear ratios do.

I've donated some bodies to them a few years ago. Dan, a teacher, started this to teach exactly what you want to do. He's a good guy and has been very successful with the program. You can contact him through the website.
