Yep, very excited about this movie. :dance:

Howard really chose an interesting period in F1 racing. The crusade for safety was in full swing, but there was pushback at the time to keep the traditional dangers in place. They were still using the Nordschleife, but by the time I got to see any races at the 'Ring (1981, I guess it was), the Nordschleife was considered too dangerous for racing, and wasn't used any more. The cars were still deathtraps, and this was still a little ahead of the ground effects revolution.

But can it measure up to Driven? :)

Can't wait for this one. Great subject, director, soundtrack. Should be one of the top-ranking racing flicks ever. I saw "Senna" several months ago at a local indie theatre. It's another awesome flick that's available on Region 1 DVD now.

Jeremy, we are friends and I want to keep it that way. So please do not rent Driven because of me.

When you combine the subject with Ron Howard there's no way it will be a bad movie. Even his less popular movies were well made, just lacked the audience.

It looks like this will be up there with Grand Prix and LeMans.....can't wait!

Those have have seen it, say it is indeed, right up with "Grand Prix" and "Le Mans".
