When I was in high school auto shop, the local motor pool of the Illinois National Guard would donate
cars taken out of service to the area schools. They gave us a '66 Dodge Coronet 4 door one year that
looked a lot like that car. They gave us all the parts and challenged use to make it new again. We did,
and shot it in olive drab and re-stenciled all the lettering just as it had been. We then shot it with ten
coats of clear with diamond dust for some sparkle. The car was returned to the ING post, after which
they sent us a nice plaque commending us on completing the challenge. But I almost dirtied my drawers
when I saw the car in the armed forces recruiting booth at the Word Of Wheels later that year.
