Some of you might remember that The General bought me an old Wheel Horse to restore.

After looking around I found a FORUM that is just like HRW...just about tractors! They had announced what they call a MEET & GREET right up the road in Warsaw, MO.

We had to go...so today was the day.

Image

You think this man knows his Wheel Horses? Unreal.

Image

My kinda snow mover!

Image

What is so special about these 2? These were acquired direct from a dealer who went out of business. A LONG time ago. His shop stayed locked up until he passed away. These tractors were STILL int he shipping crates! Never fully assembled, no gas, oil...zero. Needless to say they were the stars of the show, or at least 2 of them.

Image

Now this will do some tilling.

Image

His collection has all sorts. Some in various stages of restoration. When I say restoration...I mean perfection. These guys know about these tractors like some of know slot cars...even more. Every part will be original and installed exactly as the owner's manual dictated.

Image

Remind you of anything? Sort of like a slot car event...just tractor style :)

Here is your Auto Racing connection. Wheel horse made a special run to commemorate the INDY 500 in 1968. What a cool tractor.

Image

Was told this one is used in the Garden.

Image

What a beauty from 1960.

Image

What a great place. We had a heck of a time and I learned a LOT from the members. We were the "Noobs" at this event and all of them were very helpful and the hosts were simply the best.

Now I need to build one to beat Dickie :) I can't do it with a slot car, maybe I have a shot with one of these?

Wow! I've seen some collections, but that is probably one of the really cool ones. I'm amazed that this was so close to you. Looks like a nice place too.

I think I told you that my last Chevelle I purchased in Warsaw?

They're so cute. Any races? I gave my lawn tractor away before I found out they actually race them.

Now that's a cool place to visit!

So now that you've seen what they're supposed to look like, can we expect yours to look like these next summer? :D

Ha...no.

But it will be running and look a lot better.

I also need to finish the Smokey Yunick John Deere repaint. Since I had to rebuild it already, it's a better mower.

That's a lot of Wheel Horses in one spot! I know there are people still using them in their gardens or mowing lawns with them around here. Just a ruggedly built little tractor. :)

I'm not a tractor kind of dude, but those are some seriously cool rides. That plow is especially cool. They're more like miniature farm tractors than lawn tractors. :)

Yes, that is what they are. I had no idea what I was getting into when she found the one we have.

The entire area under the deck is now pretty messy. I am good at tearing things apart...it's that pesky re-assembly thing that has me concerned :)
